We are currently looking for a Policy Associate to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team in either our London or Birmingham office. 

 

 The role:

At the SRA, keeping money launderers and financial crime out of legal services has long been a priority. Anti-money laundering (AML) in the legal sector is seeing rapid change, with the adoption of legal technology and more recently the evolving sanctions requirements on law firms.

As a Policy Associate you will assist in the development and implementation of AML policies which guide our AML supervisory work, and regulation of the legal services market.

As a confident and credible communicator, you will be able to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, and present to them complex information in an understandable way. You will also make your contributions to reports, consultation papers, policy documents, committee and board papers on the topic of AML. There is some scope for participating in external events, for example by participating in conferences or roundtables.

This role has responsibility to deliver a rolling programme of AML training to staff of existing and upcoming requirements. This will require engagement with people from all levels of the organisation, to coordinate, and where necessary deliver AML training to all teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of policy development and delivery
  • Some understanding of UK AML regulation and/or wider AML knowledge
  • Excellent drafting skills to produce a wide range of high-quality written reports
  • Confident communicator, with ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and deliver training

This role will be based in our Birmingham or London office 1-2 days a week, and from home the rest of the week. Salary range for a Birmingham based role is £44,932 - £58,148.20, and £50,600 - £65,604 for a London based role, and any offer will be dependent on demonstrable knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate can bring to the role.
