We have a great opportunity for an Assistant HRBP to join our team.

The role
You will proactively manage your own workload, you will own HR projects (or parts of projects) for the organisation, or a particular business area and also support HRBP’s with various project work. Collating and analysing HR and business metrics, you will draft reports and papers relating to HR/People activities and trends to provide HR insight and input into delivery of business plans and strategy. You will also be responsible for a varied portfolio of employee relations casework and provide day-to-day operational advice and tactical solutions to managers and Directors on HR policies and processes.


Providing risk-based advice and support at hearings, you will be confident in challenging and empowering Managers and Directors with the implementation of grievance, disciplinary, capability and performance procedures. Forging trusted successful relationships, you will build credibility with stakeholders to ascertain successful working relationships. You will work alongside Managers, encouraging and advising them on the implementation of the Group Absence Management Policy whilst actively contributing to the development of strategies to minimise absence within the organisation.

The successful candidate will need to be a pro-active self-starter with excellent communication and influencing skills to be able to confidently explain the rationale for advice and decisions, challenge all levels of management where appropriate and be capable of handling difficult situations in a calm manner.

What we are looking for

  • Experience of managing and providing tactical, risk-based HR advice on multiple ER cases
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and supporting HR project work
  • Proven experience of supporting change management programmes
  • Appropriate application of employment law and HR best practice
  • Ideally CIPD (or equivalent) qualified or working towards.

  • Salary range for a Birmingham based role is £28,784.40 - £33,864.00 and an offer will be dependent on demonstrable knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate can bring to the role
