We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a newly created Data Architecture team within our ICT function in Birmingham.

The role

As a Data Engineer you will build, maintain, load and operate existing and new large-scale data models to support our strategic, regulatory and operational needs.

Reporting to the Data Architect, you will be an excellent communicator who is comfortable discussing designs and solutions, with all levels of the organisation clearly and concisely. You will maintain data models and efficiently bulk load and accurately manipulate data within them. Using your creativity to overcome challenges and your experience and intuition to problem solve.

Working closely with the Data Architect, you will help to implement the ICT data strategy - the flow of data from ingress into SRA through use, retention, deletion to egress, across all ICT systems.

Working collaboratively and building relationships with the other teams and individuals within the organisation is important as we develop our service and implement technical solutions. 

You will have an excellent understanding of data modelling, data manipulation and data warehouses, with a drive to continually improve your knowledge.

What we’re looking for

  • Ability to implement, maintain and operate large scale data models.
  • Excellent understanding of data modelling, data manipulation and data warehouses
  • Enthusiasm to work with multiple teams and projects to manipulate data to help the business achieve its goals.
  • Developing data platforms and managing large datasets (projects and operationally).
  • Ability to work collaboratively to implement technical solutions.
  • Experience of Microsoft Azure / SQL / Data Factory / Synapse Analytics / Power Platform / DevOps / Power BI / Dynamics 365 CRM (CE) and Finance, Office and  KingswaySoft

  • Due to the current situation the role will be working from home until Spring 2021. Looking forward there may be scope for this role to be based from home some days of the week.
