We are recruiting for Authorisation Caseworkers – Level 1 (internally known as Authorisation Officer - Level 1) in our Individual Based Authorisation and Firm Based Authorisation teams on a Fixed Term Contract basis or secondment internally of 12 months.

The Authorisation function of the SRA is one of the largest operational teams within the organisation. As an Authorisation Officer you will assist in delivering the team’s regulatory objectives and make sure that the associated processes meet the relevant service levels and KPIs.

As a Level 1 Authorisation Officer, you will play a key role in the protection of consumers by supporting the collation and maintenance of information about the regulated community, which will involve data entry and resolving data discrepancies.

Using our CRM system, you will be working with data to ensure information platforms are efficient and kept up to date. You will make some regulatory decisions on applications for firms/individuals that are entering the legal services market.

You will be competent at prioritising, offering pragmatism and a high level of attention to detail. You will be a energetic team player with excellent communication skills at all levels with internal and external stakeholders, whilst delivering excellent customer service always.

  • Someone who can competently draft written correspondence and documents.
  • A track record of delivering results against SLAs.
  • Competent user of IT systems

  • This is a hybrid role and will be based in our Birmingham office 1 to 2 days a week, and from home the rest of the week.
